Well, I got with it recently and joined the uber-popular MySpace. Now, like many of these third-party facilitators/community-creators, there has been some bad press.

So, why did I join? I joined to do a few things:
- to network with other artists
- to connect with friends from college and high school
- to join the latest fad (which isn’t really a reason)
- for shameless self-promotion
And, I’ve actually done what I set out to do. I’ve found some old friends from high school and college … some I’ve actually been looking for. I’ve networked with other artists, and I’ve definately started in with the shameless self-promotion.
If tools are used for the reasons they were intended, then no one has any problems. The problems arise when people use these tools for purposes for which they were NOT created.
Anyway, I’m happily on MySpace and haven’t had any real problems. Check it out, join yourself if your’ve not already, and maybe we can be friends.
