OK, so I’m sitting here watching my daily dose of Magnum, P.I. when what comes on commercial … SONGS FOR WORSHIP COUNTRY!
Now, listen, I’m not here to bash country music. I get down on a lot of different genres, and country is one I’ll run through occasionally. I’m wondering when the changeover happened that made “worship” music such a cash whore?!
Seriously, is Christy Nockels’ version of “Amazing Love” not good enough … or Billy & Cindy Foote’s?
“I Can Only Imagine” – Emerson Drive … I remember Bart sounding close to the country edge.
Charlie Daniels on “Awesome God” … OK, that’s just funny. “… when He rolls up His sleeves, He ain’t just puttn’ on the ritz …” just imagine “… fire on the mountain run boys, run …”
“Come, Now is the Time to Worship” by the Oak Ridge Boys
