Whoa! Weren’t you just born? My oldest turned four today. One minute I’m in college, traveling the country playing NCAA baseball and leading worship and playing concerts … the next, we’ll I’m still leading worship, but I’ve got two kids, responsibility out the ying-yang, and I really can’t account for all that happened between then and now.
Taylor is the oldest one. He’s also the informant, and the one who always seems to be in the same room as Jordan, but never a part of making the messes. He’s also gets very particular about the clothes he wears (and not like some of our friends’ kids who demand to wear a golf shirts, sweat pants and cowboy boots), but he’s starting to realize what matches and clashes (most of the time).
But, he’s not all that grown-up. We still have a ton of Bob the Builder, Diego, Thomas the Train, Cars, dinosaur and other themed underoos … actually, I don’t know why I’m talking about “grown-up,” I’d still be wearing them if I could. My favorite ones were my royal blue Dukes of Hazzard underoos — too much information?
Kids are fun. It’s been amusing at times trying to think back to what we did in our “free” time before we had kids.
