When we moved into our new house back in April, we could stand out on our back porch and see an alfalfa field off to the left, and a large line of trees surrounding a pond off to the back and right. This is the first time we’ve gotten to live out away from the city (only about 5 -10 minutes). Usually, we’ve been right smack-dab in the middle of everything.
Yesterday, I stopped long enough to realize that all the trees have been cut down, the pond was drained and filled in, and the ground has been cleared away to be prepared for about 50 new houses just in that dirt patch you can see off to the right, with plans to bring development right up to our backyard.
The guy that owns the field still has no intention of selling his land to the developers. We’ll see how long that lasts.
