Well, I’m going to have to delay releasing the new disc maybe a few months (April 2006). We’ve had some snags along the way that either had to be overcome, or just put on hold while things got back to normal … whatever normal is. Is that like The Normals? I wish they were still cranking great tunes (although you can hear Andrew with Caedmon’s Call, now) … them and Nickel and Dime (Jon Shirley‘s still making it happen).
So, with a few setbacks, things seem to be back on track. I’ve got 12 songs planned for the album, right now. Some that I have recently written, some that I wrote long ago and have been found in the back of notebooks and dusted off, some old songs made new, some praise & worship and some that I might write later.
It’s shaping up to look a little something like this (in no particular order):
- Come Down
2002 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie - Lord Most Holy
2006 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie - New Life
2006 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie - Luke 9:23
1997 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie / Rayden Hollis / Rusty Gunn / Grandma Champion - White Sands
2001 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie - Power
1996 Broken Strings Productions – Abercrombie - Victory in Jesus
Eugene. M. Bartlett (lyrics) – Abercrombie (arrangement) - All Creatures of Our God and King
WorshipTogether.com Songs / Six Steps Music (WTS) / EMI Christian Music Group – David Crowder - Sing to the King
WorshipTogether.com Songs / Six Steps Music (WTS) / EMI Christian Music Group – Billy Foote - I Will Not Forget You
Maranatha Music (Record Co.) / Corinthian Music – Ben and Robin Pasley - Kindness
WorshipTogether.com Songs / Six Steps Music (WTS) / EMI Christian Music Group – Chris Tomlin / Jesse Reeves / Louie Giglio - Let My Words Be Few
ThankYou Music (KWY) / EMI Christian Music Group / ThankYou Music / Maranatha Music (Record Co.) – Beth Redman and Matt Redman
Maybe a couple of others will sneak their way onto the disc … who knows? I’m really excited about this disc and the events that will unfold through the making of this disc. This will be the first solo project that I’ve recorded, though I do wish Rob and Clifton and Scott were here to join me in this endeavor, I wish them well in the life paths on which God has taken them, and all of us.
Hopefully, I don’t mess this whole thing up and make it an album that makes the dogs howl! =)
Later.
