Ten days after my birthday, my youngest son was born. That didn’t quite come out the way I had planned … he’s not 10-days younger than me … his date of birth is 10 days after mine, 27 years later — and only 15 months after our oldest son.

This picture is 100% indicative of his personality. The photographer said, “just stand still with your hands in your pocket,” and this is what we got. He has NO idea what still means. Even when he’s sleeping he’s moving around. He has a ton of fun, and is SO mischevious and cunning it’s amazing.

This is also one of the few pictures we have of him where he doesn’t have a bruise or scrape or cut or something somewhere on his face. His head and face are like his brakes. If his head or face doesn’t run into something to slow him down, he’s going to keep going.

So, in typical Jordan fashion it just so happened that the day before his birthday he was on the playground at church and had another one of his faceplants. Evidently he decided to go running toward one of the swings to dive and land on it with his stomach … and overshot his landing, and gravity pulled his head to the ground. Now, since our church’s and daycare’s playground surface is small pebbles, he now has about 100 dot scrapes from his forehead to his lips.

And in typical boy fashion, he jumped up and tried it again.

NFL here we come! 🙂
