Last weekend we started hearing this horrible grinding sound when we would press on the brakes of the van. All the other vehicles we’ve had would make a screeching sound when the brakes were ready to change, so I thought maybe there was something really wrong since there was no screeching sound but a grinding sound and feel.
I finally got around to changing the brakes this morning. WOW! This pad is from the front-right, and it had absolutely no pad left, and it actually looked like melted metal (yes, Rosie, metal and steel can get hot enough to melt. How do you think it’s formed to begin with?).
Anyway, now we’re back to being safe again.
