Saturday night was “Destination Unknown.” If you’ve never been a part of this crazy scheme of a game, then just imagine an over-grown scavenger hunt all over town with no idea where you are going next or where you will ultimately end up.
We had a good night of praise as three different churches were represented at the event. After some worship time and a quick pep-talk, the students were split up into various groups and shoved into vans. Each of these van loads of kids had to interpret their first clue to figure out where in the city they had to go to get their next clue.
Adult sponsors were spread out all over the city and these are where each different clue is handed out … BUT, not-so-fast. Before the clue was just handed over, an act had to be performed. It could be something from everyone in the group hopping on one foot, spinning around and singing Mary Had a Little Lamb, to saying the alphabet backwards (Z to A) to even consumable bribes (food).
Each clue was designed to send the groups to another location (if they could figure out the clues) where they would get another clue and repeat the process until they get to their final “Destination,” hence “Destination Unknown.”
This year the groups ended up way out somewhere in Kansas where there was a bonfire and Laser Tag™ equipment for games of Laser Tag™ in the woods.
Stay tuned for what’s next …
